Asbestos Testing and Inspection

Asbestos is a natural fiber that was used in thousands of materials and building products.

Asbestos is a natural fiber and was used because of its impressive heat resistance, durability, and non-corrosive properties. The most common asbestos containing construction materials are drywall, joint compound, insulation, roofing materials, floor tiles, glue and mastic, and electrical and heating components. During disturbance of the material such as renovation or demolition, microscopic fibers are released into the atmosphere around the material. If unprotected and these fibers are inhaled, the fibers make their way into the respiratory system and can have lasting impacts such as lung cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestosis.

Who needs an asbestos inspection?
Anyone performing demolition and renovation that will disturb or impact any material in a building. This includes contractors, property owners, and homeowners.

EOC Environmental works with residential and commercial property owners to assess and inspect for the presence of asbestos. Prior to renovation or demolition it is necessary to sample and test any suspect materials for the presence of asbestos. Our staff is licensed by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services to complete Asbestos Inspections. We work to identify specific project needs, understand the scope of renovation and demolition, and take a cost-effective approach to our sampling strategy that helps reduces the number of samples and the overall cost.

We can also provide project management and oversight for any remediation needed.
